On May 25th 2020, Riva Yacht’s new 88 ft gem took her first dip in the sea at the La Spezia shipyard. She is the first new model to be launched in 2020 by the historic Italian Shipyard, the dedicated production facility for 76 to 110-foot models.
This is also Riva’s first launch in the Covid-19 era. The launch celebrates the continuous activity of all shipyards, attesting to Ferretti Group’s solid commitment to building dreams.
The new Riva 88′ Folgore, which is the successor of the glorious Super Domino flybridge model, is a symbol of strength and innovation.
Splendid and dazzling as its name implies (Folgore in Italian means Thunderbolt), this highly-anticipated luxury Riva yacht for sale has excited Riva enthusiasts, and instantly won the hearts and minds of those who saw it cut through the waves.

Despite the circumstances, Riva 88’ Folgore, whose project was presented back in January 2020, precisely met the deadline set for her construction time.
The new exterior design philosophy draws inspiration from the automotive world, perfectly combining luxury and sportiness.
In a harmonious balance between the past and the present, this new yacht for sale combines innovative materials, such as carbon, with traditional stylistic elements such as mahogany inlays and steel decorations.
With a design proposal that merges aesthetics and functionality, Riva 88’ Folgore offers the owner a completely reimagined stern concept, with a garage door that swings open and can be positioned in two different ways: parallel to the waterline, to take advantage of a 6m² beach club; and immersed, to allow the launch and landing of the tender.
The spacious cockpit extends over 22 m² and features a massive sofa area with a table, and also a bar unit with a marble top that opens electronically.
Another intriguing stylistic element is the glass hardtop located on the superstructure, which opens up and can be tilted towards both the stern and bow, to let fresh air in during navigation or when at anchor.
The style of the ship’s interiors have also been extensively renewed – created with precious materials including wood, steel, marble, and glass. The new Riva 88 Folgore offers three different layouts options for the master cabin, to meet the exact needs of her prospective owners. A VIP cabin at the bow and two double cabins, each with its own bathroom, complete the sleeping areas for this exciting new luxury yacht.
The area reserved for the galley remains separate, with a dedicated entrance to allow for maximum service privacy.
Like all Riva yachts of recent history, the 88’ Folgore is the result of the collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli along with Sergio Beretta, the Product Strategy Committee headed by engineer Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
